Who we are
Freshlemonwater (freshlemonwater.com) is operated by GVOC LTD, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 15935169), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. GVOC LTD is the data controller for the analytics described here. You can contact us at connect@freshlemonwater.com.
What we collect and why
De-identified analytics (all visitors). We collect basic usage data to understand overall traffic: the page path, the referring website's domain, campaign parameters (UTM), an approximate country, and a timestamp. This is de-identified: no cookies, no identifier, and our own records never store your IP address or link one visit to another. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
Google Analytics (all visitors, Consent Mode). Google Analytics 4 loads for everyone. Before you consent it runs in a cookieless mode but still sends limited data to Google, including your IP address, which Google uses to estimate approximate location and states it does not log or store. Lawful basis before consent: legitimate interest. If you consent, Google Analytics sets cookies and performs full measurement.
User-level analytics (only with your consent). If you accept, we store an identifier in your browser so we can recognise return visits and see how journeys unfold, and Google Analytics sets its cookies. Lawful basis: consent.
Cookies and similar storage
- flw-consent (browser localStorage, first-party): remembers your consent choice. Kept until you change it or clear your browser.
- flw-visitor-id (browser localStorage, first-party, set only after you consent): recognises return visits. Kept until you withdraw consent or clear your browser.
- flw-session-id (browser sessionStorage, first-party, set only after you consent): groups a single visit. Cleared when you close the tab.
- flw-report-h1-2026-unlocked (browser localStorage, first-party): set after the report download gate stores your email address, so the PDF download stays unlocked on return visits. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
- _ga, _ga_<id> (cookies set by Google, only after you consent): Google Analytics measurement. Typically up to 2 years.
Who we share it with, and transfers outside the UK
Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC in the United States, acting as our processor. Because Google is in the US, this involves an international transfer, made under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC is certified. The site is served through Netlify (a US hosting/CDN provider), and our own analytics are stored in a database we host with Amazon Web Services in London, UK. We do not sell your data.
Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp) receives the email address (and any optional details) you submit through the newsletter and report-download forms, to store the subscription and send the newsletter.
Retention
We keep analytics records for up to 14 months and then delete them. You can withdraw consent at any time using the control, which stops user-level tracking and clears the identifiers placed in your browser. Withdrawing consent stops future tracking; to have records already collected against your identifier deleted, contact us.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability where applicable, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because our de-identified baseline data is not linked to you, we generally cannot identify you from it, so those rights apply mainly to consented, user-level data, which you can act on by contacting connect@freshlemonwater.com. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you have the right to object.
Complaints
If you have concerns, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
